Pelicans are birds with huge, long beaks.
Ideal for fishing in rivers and creeks.
They have yellow framed, black beady eyes
And long white necks without bow ties.
A fluffy, white breast and black and white wings
But in a Pelican peloton nobody sings.
A very big wingspan they do love to fly
Spinning in thermals until they’re just specks in the sky.
Strong, stout legs with large, webbed feet.
They can stand or swim without missing a beat.
On posts and pilons Pelicans like to reside
When not fishing or flying at the seaside.
