FAQ

Please contact us with any questions you may have which are not in the FAQ below.

  1. What is a Fine Art Reproduction?

All Fine Art Reproductions offered on this website have a high archival rating and are printed with 12 colour Canon Lucia EX pigment Inks – Tested to last over 100 years without fading if displayed correctly.

  1. What is Cotton Rag?

Cotton Rag is a type of paper. All cotton rag used for prints from this website are Textured surface Sihl Masterclass 320gsm.

Each print will have a standard 3cm border which allows for handling and framing. The cotton rag is acid and Lignen free.

  1. Why do originals cost so much?

Many hours go into creating an original painting.

  • The canvas is stretched
  • Canvas is primed
  • Design is created from photos which have been taken.
  • Plan is developed so that there is a logical step by step from background painting to finished painting.
  • Design is sketched onto the canvas and painting plus application of texture paste using stencils and palette knives is performed.
  • Many layers of painting plus a final protective varnish all done with love and care.
  1. Do you offer framing?

No.

Originals are painted on a deep edge canvas which may be hung without framing. The deep edges are painted to allow for this.

Fine Art Reproductions on stretched canvas also do not require a frame and come ready to hang on your wall.

Fine Art Reproductions onto Cotton Rag Paper do need framing. Any good professional framer can do this for you.

  1. What is a stretched canvas?

Original paintings on this website are painted on a stretched canvas. A stretched canvas is a special artist quality canvas which has been stretched over quality seasoned timber bar frames. The canvas is then primed before the painting is started.

The Fine Art Reproductions on this website are offered on stretched canvas as well as paper-cotton rag.
